SCHAEFFER, Alfred B. August 8, 1930-June 22, 2012 Family and friends were his life and humor was his trademark. He is dearly missed by all, and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan, and children: Gale Schaeffer, Debra Pew (Vernon), David Schaeffer (Tracy) and Lee Zamos (David), and grandchildren: Laurel, Kristin, Emily, Toby, Sam, Ryan and Katie, and great-grandchildren: Kendrick and Kylie. Al grew up in Philadelphia, graduated from The Wharton School and then moved to Los Angeles. His career included serving as a Director of PennCorp Financial, CEO of Penn General Agencies and Chairman of Bank Insurance Network. He was a founder and Board member of Windward School in Los Angeles, and was founding Board member and President of Concern Foundation for Cancer Research. He retired to Carmel, California in 1997 where he was a member of Quail Lodge Golf Club.
