Alfred Sicoli, Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 28 to May 29, 2021.
Alfred Phillip Sicoli Jr. was born on a Thursday, February 15th in 1951 to Catherine and Alfred Sr. at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia.  He was the firstborn, and became the older brother to his sister, Karen. Alfred fell in love with Carla Kraus, and the two were married on February 13, 1973.? They welcomed their child, Alfred III on April 1st, 1974, adding to the family a decade later on October 14th, 1984, Danielle. Alfred went to work for Nabisco and worked for 29 years. His family enjoyed the occasional box of cookies that came fresh off the belt at work. Big Fred loved playing guitar, and was brilliant at it. He played with a Christian band called All For One with his friends Mark, Carol, Jeff and Dan. He later formed another Christian band with his co-worker and longtime friend Dave Semande called Kingdom. Though he would often lose himself in his music, he enjoyed playing with others, teaching others and blessing others with new instruments, including gifting a Rickenbaccer bass to his daughter Danielle.  Fred was a car enthusiast, as he collected car magazines, had a classic car telephone, several model cars, and bought himself a sporty Subaru, which perhaps made its way off his property as much as his model cars did. He was very proud of his son, Freddy, who became a business owner airbrushing cars and bikes featured on television, in magazines and at the Philadelphia Auto Show. Alfred loved to dream of working with his son; an expression of his appreciation and excitement for his son's artistic gifting. Alfred was a man of faith in Jesus. In past decades, he would love talking theology and prophecy with anyone who would sit down to a cup of tea with him. He met a pastor, Jim Brown, at the Christian bookstore he frequented, taking his family to pastor Jim's church, Crossroads. That direction led to his daughter marrying a pastor of her own. In later years, Fred would go to Grace Community, making interesting friends along the way. Alfred said goodbye to his wife, Carla, who went home to be with the Lord on August 21st, 2001, and was afterward cared for by his daughter Danielle. Alfred loved his old movies, and would watch and rewatch sci-fi shows with his cats, Crumb and Marbles curled up beside him, asking others who came by if they believed in aliens.  As his health took a turn, Alfred's son took him in. Little Freddy helped his dad sell his house, moved him into his own place, set him up with everything he needed, took him to doctors appointments, and ministered to his personal needs in a way only a loving son could. Alfred died  on Tuesday morning, May 25th, 2021. He is survived by his sister Karen, his brother-in-law Earl, his son Alfred, his step-daughter Danielle, and his granddaughter Pearl, whom he affectionately called Brighteyes. He is now in heaven, reunited with his wife Carla, and is enjoying the presence of His Savior, Jesus, seeing Him face-to-face forevermore. Alfred's Funeral Service will be held on Thursday June 3rd at 10 am in Crossroads Community Church 4706 Comly Street. To share your fondest memories of Alfred, please visit PhillyFunerals.com. I still miss you every day. I hear songs that remind me of you. Whenever a crazy old movie comes on TV, I say, my brother would love this movie. I have so many memories of you in my heart, and you will be with me always. Until we meet again. Love, your Little Sister, Karen. ❤

Pearl still says "Pop" when uncle Freddy knocks. I know there will come a day when she doesn't say Pop anymore and I just hope I notice before too many days pass, so I can show her a picture and keep the memory alive for her.

I love you, Fred. My heart is hurting, but I know you aren't in pain anymore, and you are at peace. You'll always be my big brother. "See you on the flipside."
