Psalms 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years. May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.

We will always remember Cita (and Jim) as our wonderful next door neighbor(s) in La Jolla. Our fond memories of Cita will include seeing her outside pretty much daily, gardening in a dress and apron... always wearing a dress...I dont think I ever saw her in slacks...she was the epitome of the old fashioned sensibility of the next door neighbor...bringing us the fruits of her labor...even once bringing us honey in it's comb straight from her yard...we didnt even know there were bees there! We loved the wild berries she grew. Because our houses were so close, only separated by a narrow driveway, we often heard the piano playing or the teaching of piano to a student. We miss our home at Olivetas and Cita (and Jim...out front in the driveway fixing his car) will always be a part of our wonderful memories there. It was a joy reading her obituary...wow, there is so much we didnt know...what a wonderful and full life she lived. Our healing thoughts go out to her family during this time of loss and sorrow.

Bless you, dear Cita, as a warm, sweet and much valued member of our little Spanish group, The Tertulia. Throughout these many (20+) years you have been a most gracious hostess, hospitable and welcoming. Your company was a sheer delight, and you were an inspiration. I loved seeing you ride up in your, much cherished, Peugeot. What a wonderful life you've enjoyed. Once you told me that, "everyone of your children was a delight." You were blessed and so were they. God Speed, Mary Rayes

As a Whitecotton-Powers nephew of Aunt Cita, I shall always remember her depth of soul being at least as vast as her comprehensive intellect, her caring for each of her children, and for her sister, my Mother, Helen W. Powers. Springing from the same soil, both proved in countless ways extraordinary spirits not ever to be forgotten, or otherwise lost, in the "hazy ruins of time." As with their Mother and Father, and Aunt Cita's husband, our Uncle Jim, both were in their respective ways intrepid, powerful individuals. Aunt Cita's potent humility and love of culture was especially noteworthy among her many gifts in her expansive pantheon of great qualities. She passes from us loved beyond expression.
