Alice Clawson Obituary
Alice L. Clawson age 86, of Stevens Point passed away on Friday March 22, 2013 at the Portage County Health Care Center.
Funeral services for Alice will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday March 26, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Steven Olson will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church.
Alice was born on June 6, 1925 in Columbus, OH the daughter of Harold and Lucille (Raabe) Clawson. She graduated from North High School in Columbus, and earned her bachelor of Science Degree from Ohio State University. She earned her Masters and PHD from Texas Woman's University. Alice taught high school in Sandusky, OH and later at Central Methodist College in Fayette, OH. Her last profession was as a college professor at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, where she taught for 32 years until her retirement.
Alice enjoyed traveling, camping, golfing, and attending sporting events.
Alice is survived by one brother: James (Nancy) Clawson, Johnson City, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Margaret (John) Puckett and her brother Harold (Nancy) Clawson, all of Columbus, OH.

Alice was a wonderful friend. When I first moved to Steven Point she & her buddy Marge Spring stopped by my office to introduce themselves. They took me under their wings and quickly included me in all their many social activites from golfing at SPCC to the great St Patty Day parties
hosted at their house. So glad you are home again with your buddy Marge. "Rest In Peace" my friend.

We have known Alice since the 80"s and have many fond memories, the one that stands out was being with her in Arizona for the 1997 Super Bowl game, the Packers won! When I would visit her at the Portage Cty Home she would usually say, "you have to accept what life deals you", what courage! I am visualizing her reunion with Marge and family members. Am glad she is at peace.

Alice was my professor at UWSP and a great teacher and friend of my family. I kept in contact with her and visted her with my best friend Shelley. She was always smiling and positive and spoke highly of everyone. Rest in peace

I met Alice when my Mother was at Oakridge. Everytime I saw Alice she was smiling and had something kind to say. She was a wonderful lady... the world needs more Alice Clawson's.
