Alice was a mentor and a dear friend. She was there for me at Finney Library at the beginning of my library career in 1991. I will miss her.

Alice was a great librarian, a wonderful friend, and a kind and caring individual. I knew her for over 38 years and will miss her very much.

Alice's loyalty to the library was surpassed only by her loyalty to family and friends. I always admired her ability to sustain friendships that lasted for decades, and feel fortunate to have known her for over 35 years. Alice's generosity and unwavering tenacity will always be remembered, and I will miss our chats and reminiscing.

Alice was honest, generous, thoughtful and kind. She always put others needs and wants before her own. She was a great friend and an exceptional librarian. Those of us who truly knew and loved her will remember her fondly. I will miss our long conversations about everything and anything. I'll think about you as I read the newest "cozy" mystery book and wish I could share it with you. I will toast you every New Year's as a remembrance of the past New Year's we celebrated together. The beautiful beaded Easter eggs and Christmas ornaments you made and gave to me will continue to sparkle and adorn my home during the holidays and remind me of you. Our long friendship was a gift and I will cherish it forever.

When I think of Alice, I remember her smile. She was the perfect person to work at the Welcome Desk at Central Library. After she retired, I continued to think of her whenever I passed that desk. We began work at MPL at about the same time. She preceded me by a couple of months. I will miss reminiscing with her about those early days, our many common Central Library friends, and all the "interesting" patrons from that time to whom we gave identifying names. It's hard to say "Farewell" to someone who has been part of one's life history. Alice, you'll be remembered by many friends which is something very special.

Alice you were always a bright spot in my MPL days. Your family was very important to you, as well as your library family. Your friendship to all was amazing. Never did you have a bad word for anyone. Working under you in the new bookroom was inspiring. Thank you for my wedding shower, our talks, and your caring for all.

Alice was a loving a caring person. She will be in my thoughts on Friday. I enjoyed working with her at the library (long ago) and remember her dedication to work and completing her education. The last couple years we renewed our friendship and started having dinners together with other former or retired library employees. I will miss her kindness.
