Alice Hanley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 1, 2008.
DENNISPORT — Alyce M. (Vincent) Hanley, 74, of Dennis and formerly of Milton, passed away at home, after a long, courageous battle on Oct. 29, 2008.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Thomas P.; cherished daughters, Karen M. of Hull, and Lori A. Donovan and her husband William of Plymouth; and adoring grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Kayla and Casey Donovan.

Alyce graduated from North Quincy High School and Emmanuel College. The "job" she loved most was raising her daughters, but she went on to teach at Aquinas Jr. College in Milton.

In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, the beach, spending winters in Naples, Fla., and precious time with her family and friends.

We will continue to be inspired by her strength, love and faith.

Visitation will be held at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home in South Dennis, Route 134, from 3 to 6 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008. Services will be held at Our Lady of the Cape, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the VNA of Cape Cod. Comments and reflections may also be left with her on www.mem.com.

Dear Tom, Karen and Lori,
I'am so sorry for your loss. Alyce will always hold a special place in my heart. I will always remember the wonderful memories of summers visiting your cottage in Dennisport. The cookouts in your backyard and sleeping in the sun room. Alyce and Tom, always so generous letting my parents stay in the "little" house out back. I will remember the endless fun at the beach on Labor Day weekend. Over the years times changed, however I will never forget Alyce. I loved her like an aunt and will always treasure my memories of her. I hope she and my mom are having a joyful reunion together. I will pray for you in the days ahead and hope that your memories will bring you comfort. I will forever love Alyce, in my head and in my heart.
Love,
Susan Levangie
