Alice Ingham Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 16, 2024.
Alice Marie Ingham (née Richards), born on August 27, 1929, in Wilder, Idaho, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024, in Veneta, Oregon, at the age of 94. Alice, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, also known as Momo, led a life marked by love, dedication, and community service.

Alice graduated from Wilder High School in 1947. Shortly thereafter while working at a local bank, she met the love of her life, Pete Ingham. The couple married in 1949 and embarked on a journey that saw them living in Boise and Las Vegas. While in Las Vegas, Alice worked as the bookkeeper for the family-owned Vegas Baking Company & Arnold Palmer Driving Range, roles she excelled in thanks to her sharp mind for business and finance. The couple returned to Boise in 1971, where Alice continued her career in bookkeeping with Ada County and later with a seed company, combining her professional skills with her passion for gardening.

Alice's personal life was filled with joy and the company of her large and loving family. She is survived by her children, Patricia Bradstreet, Ric Ingham & Donna, and Pauline (Polli) Buzzini; her grandchildren Tammy Steele, Stacie Moyer, Wendy Hippard, Carie Hippard, Holly Weiss, Jessica Somerton, Mike Ingham, Tony Buzzini, and Kelli Buzzini; and her great-grandchildren Nicolle Moyer; Shad Steele, Shelby Moyer, Hayden Steele, McKayla Thoennes, Aaliyah Garibay, Olivia Thoennes, Clare Thoennes, Eden Thoennes, Londyn Edwards, Grady Weiss & Hadley Weiss. Great Great Grandchildren Afton Moyer, and Crue Kinsey. She also leaves behind her sister, Norma Richards, and many nieces and nephews. Alice had a tremendous impact with many kids in the Las Vegas neighborhood with a special life long bond with Greg Orr, and his recently passed mother Lois Orr.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nellie Richards; her sisters, Genevieve Johnson and Winifred Curtis; son in law John Bradstreet; her beloved husband, Pete Ingham; her son, Michael Ingham; and her grandson, Christopher Ingham.

Beyond her family and career, Alice came from the generation where hard work, respecting others and being kind was how you lived your life. And Alice was the epitome of kindness, she always put everyone's needs before her own. Alice was deeply patriotic and dedicated many years to organizing conventions and reunions for Wake Island POW survivors, ensuring their legacy and camaraderie endured. Her commitment to this cause was a testament to her compassionate spirit and love for her country.

A grave side service to honor and celebrate Alice's life will be held on August 24th at 12 noon 2024 at Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise, Idaho. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, son and grandson. Alice's life was one of meaningful connections, unwavering love for her family, and a lasting impact on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a pillar of strength and kindness in her community.

My father was one of the Wake Island survivors along with Pete. What a close-knit group those guys and their spouses were! As a kid and on into my adult life, I remember many of their gatherings which I attended. Often, those gatherings were full-blown conventions, requiring people to organize and do the administration pieces. And Alice and Pete were in the very core of the "doers" who kept things running. After Pete passed, she continued to play a very active role, and I always admired how she managed to be involved in so much! I think the survivors' group will continue to meet in the hereafter, and Alice will be there to ensure that things run smoothly...
