Alice Kaplan, 88, of New York, NY died on August 4, 2025 after a brief illness. Alice dedicated her life to helping others. She worked as a school librarian, antique silver dealer, and later as a social worker and bereavement counselor. She will be remembered for her philanthropy, compassion, and thoughtfulness, as well as her love of art, books, ballet, theater, and music. Her memory will be sustained by the people she touched. She is survived by her husband, Jason Aronson; her brother, Steven Drucker; her children, Seth, Isabel, and Caroline Kaplan; her children-in-law Amy Fitzgerald, Andrew Cheskis, and Douglas Clark; and her grandchildren, Jason and Abigail Cheskis, Justin Kaplan, and Josh and Jack Clark. She was predeceased by her first husband, Allan Kaplan, and her sister, Louise Orkin. Donations may be made in her memory to Planned Parenthood (weareplannedparenthood.org.) and the City Congregation for Humanistic Judaism (citycongregation.org).
