Alice LAWRENCE Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 8 to Jul. 9, 2018.
LAWRENCE, Alice Marie 80, returned to her heavenly home on June 23, 2018, after returning to her home on hospice care earlier that week. Alice was born to the late Harold and Grace Hannah, a farmer and a schoolteacher in Mulhall, Oklahoma on December 30, 1937. Alice graduated from Excelsior High School, May 15, 1956, as the valedictorian. Alice was blessed with a large and loving family. She had nine brothers and sisters who she loved dearly throughout her lifetime. She married her beloved husband, Kirk Alden Lawrence, on May 4, 1957. Together they had three children Teresa Lynn Keating, deceased, Kelley Rene Hunt and Liles Kirk Lawrence. Alice raised her children with patience, discipline, and humility. She taught them to live in the moment and to cherish memories, not materials. Alice valued her family and always put them first. Alice and her husband lived in Oklahoma for many years until they traveled on Route 66 to Napa, California. Then, they made their way to Santa Rosa, California where they both settled down. Once in Santa Rosa, Alice worked for Community Hospital and Sutter Medical Center for many years until her retirement. Alice was a kind good-hearted woman. She believed in speaking her mind and taking care of your family. Alice loved traveling both inside and outside the United States. She always thought of others and did the best she could to help those in need. Alice volunteered for over ten years at the Living Room and donated to numerous foundations. Alice was the type of person who could light up any room with her contagious smile. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator. Alice is survived by her daughter Kelley Rene Hunt, Richard Hunt, Liles Kirk Lawrence, Vikki Lawrence, her brother Dale Hannah, her sister Helen Willingham, grandchildren, Melissa Larsen, Rebecca Jones, J.P. Jones, Kristina Hunt and two-great-grandchildren Jaden and Kendall Jones and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice will be buried at the Church of the Incarnation, and there will be a burial service on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. The family looks forward to seeing all of those who loved Alice and asks them to keep her in their thoughts and prayers. Donations in Alice's memory may be made out to the Church of the Incarnation or the Living Room. Church of the Incarnation 550 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa. (707) 579-2604.

Aunt Alice was my inspiration! I starting walking everyday because that's what Aunt Alice did. I remember as a young child how well she kept her house, how much she loved her children and her husband. She was full of fun and loved to tease. Alice will be missed.
