Alice Marie Livengood

Alice M. Smith Livengood, Age 80, Passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 at her residence in Huntsville, KY. Alice was born on Wednesday, May 5, 1943 in Williamsport, IN to the union of the late Donald F. and June Harris Smith. She married Harry O. Livengood November 14, 1964, living in Indiana until 1996, they moved to Quality, KY to be closer to their daughter and help with their grandchildren. Alice was retired from Central Lab in Lafayette, IN and worked as a cook at the Tippecanoe Co. Jail in Lafayette, IN and Kuntry Kitchen in Morgantown. Over the years she enjoyed playing bingo, visits to Las Vegas, casino boats, lottery tickets and playing euchre which could often get quitte interesting when she played with her grandchildren. If someone was having a hard time, she would do what she could to help them. Alice enjoyed giving to her family, especially when they came to visit, making big breakfasts and loading them up with more than they needed to take back home. She was stubborn, spunky and stuck in her ways but was always there for her family when they needed her. Other than her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Harry O. Livengood, three brothers; Joe, Steve and Charles Smith, two sisters; Brenda Brock and Sue Webster and one Son-in-law, Greg Kirby.

Alice M Smith Livengood is survived by one son, Michael F Livengood (Aleeah) of Mulberry, IN, one daughter, Rose Kirby of Huntsville, KY, eight grandchildren; Ben Livengood (Elizabeth) of Pyrmont, IN, Kris Livengood (Melissa) of Lafayette, IN, Chi Livengood (Michelle) of Attich, IN, Micah Livengood (Randi) of Mulberry, IN, Gabe Livengood (Amber) of Dayton, IN, Jake Livengood (Allison) of Dayton, IN, Kristy Taylor (Neal) of Russellville, KY and Sierra Taylor (Doug) of Russellville, KY, 24 great-grandchildren, one brother, Donald Smith (Annie) of Portland Arch IN, one sister Pat Gentry of Quality, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel with Bro. Carl Ratcliff officiating. Burial will be in the Huntsville Methodist Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 11:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
