Alice La'Vern Rizzo

April 11, 1940 - May 1, 2025

Alice La'Vern Rizzo, age 85, of Englewood, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025. Born on April 11, 1940, Alice was the beloved wife of Samuel Rizzo for nearly 66 years. She was the loving mother of the late Sammy Rizzo and Tamara Rizzo-Sterner (Vaughn) and a devoted grandmother to Tyler Sterner and Morgan Sterner.

She cherished family above all and was one of five sisters Preceded in her death were sisters, Kathy (Roger) Booher and Rose Flemming. She is survived by her sisters Irene (Joe) Swisshelm and Evelyn (Joe) Rizzo. Her extended family and countless friends will remember her with love and gratitude.

In love and remembrance of Alice-a woman whose warmth, generosity, and tireless spirit left a mark on every heart she touched. It is never easy to say goodbye, but in celebrating Alice's life, we find comfort in the memories she gave us and the example she set for how to live with grace, compassion, and joy.

A devoted member of Precious Blood Parish, Alice was known for her unwavering faith and dedication. She served as an usher, volunteered at church festivals, and was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Alice gave without asking for anything in return. Her hands were never still, and her heart was always open.

Alice found joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending time outdoors, attending garage sales, or spending time working in the yard. Flowers especially brought her happiness-much like her, they brought color and comfort to those around her.

Her family was the light of her life. Every gathering she planned, every meal she helped prepare, every laugh shared-these were the moments that mattered most to her. She believed in creating opportunities for togetherness, in building memories, and in celebrating love in all its forms. She made sure we knew that family wasn't just important-it was everything to her.

One of the most remarkable things about Alice was her ability to find a positive twist in even the hardest of times. She had a gift for encouragement-a way of lifting others up when they needed it most. She taught us that hope could be found in every corner, and kindness could change the course of a day. She always put on her best game face for the sake of others.

Alice's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and service. And though she is no longer with us in body, her light lives on in every life she touched.

Rest peacefully, Alice. You were deeply loved, and you will be missed more than words can say.

In her words...."Don't cry because I'm gone, smile because I was here!"

Sam,
Sorry to hear that Alice passed. I will always remember growing up and you and Alice were always doing things with Ronnie and I on weekends. Another thing I remember is you loaning us one of your cars, while ours was being repaired. I met Judy driving your red convertible. I loved that car. Alice was always having Christmas Eve where a good time was had by all, especially you and I having mans drinks.
Alice will be missed by all. She was always helpful to all. Very strong lady that will be missed by all.

Love, Bill, Judy & Louie
