Alice Vera Taylor Sepulveda, 89
October 15, 1932-February 17, 2022
Alice Vera Taylor Sepulveda, beloved mother, grandmother and friend to countless others passed away on February 17, 2022 after a brief illness. The Fort Peck Sioux native was 89 years old. Alice was born in Poplar, MT October 15, 1932 and grew up there. She attended boarding school in East Helena for two years, where she met several lifelong friends. In 1950 she met and married Guadalupe Sepulveda and together they were blessed with 13 children.
Life was not always easy for Alice but her stubborn nature, coupled with her dry sense of humor, endeared her to all who knew her. Settling in Butte, Alice made it her home, raised her children and was involved with all her children's friends, who simply all called her Mom. No matter how small the house, all were invited to Alice's. Over the years, she cooked for numerous events and fed the city of Butte with her famous fry bread and tortillas. Alice loved to play bingo, do her word search puzzles, circling each letter, cooking huge meals for gatherings and was truly a magnet for everyone.
Famous for her no-nonsense way of talking, Alice had a gift of making everyone feel special. To get teased by Unci was an honor, even more so getting pinched if you weren't fast enough to get out of her way. Alice's love of family was her greatest gift and she affectionately doted on her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She treasured her time with her grandchildren//great grandchildren and enjoyed everything from watching their ballgames to traveling the country with her granddaughters.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Vickey (Gordon) Shuck of Glendive, Donna Sepulveda, Irma (Rick) Sepulveda, Jackey Sepulveda, Cheryl Sepulveda and Maria (Jess) Labuff, all of Butte. She leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband and all her sons; David, Raul, Gilbert, Chester, Marce, Guadalupe Jr, and Tony. Other losses include her granddaughter, Brenda Kay, grandson, Marcus Sepulveda and 'adopted' son, Frank Rosales.
There will be a family viewing on Monday, February 21st from 5-7. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 22nd at 11:00 at Duggan Dolan Funeral Home. A reception honoring Alice will follow at McQueen Athletic Club.
