Alice Inize (Hudson) Smith, age 66, of Toone, TN, passed away on November 24, 2023. She was born on January 19, 1957.

Alice, also known as "Nizie", was a loving and compassionate individual who always found joy in helping others. She was known for her unwavering support, creativity, and her strong faith in God. Alice had a deep love for her family and cherished spending time with them. She was also an excellent cook, delighting her loved ones with her culinary skills.

Alice is survived by her mother, Hattie Mae Hudson, and her siblings: Shirley Hays (Jerry), Gladys Poindexter (Warren, deceased), Lilion Thomas (Frederick), and Calvin Hudson Jr. (April). She also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and one great great niece.

Alice was preceded in death by her father, Calvin C. Hudson Sr., her beloved husband, James Nathaniel Smith, also known as "Smitty", and her nephews, Roderic Shivers and Matthew Thomas.

Nizie and Smitty raised two children - son Carlos Hudson and daughter Jannize Smith. Over the years, their family grew to include three granddaughters - Carmen, Peyton, and Paisley.

Alice attended Toone Elementary for her primary education and later graduated from Bolivar Central High School. She dedicated her career to serving the community, working for the US Department of Transportation in Washington, DC, the US Postal Service in Jackson, TN, and the Hardeman County School District.

Alice found solace and worshiped at Hillfield Missionary Baptist Church, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Her faith was an integral part of her life.

In her free time, Alice enjoyed designing arts and crafts, particularly holiday decorations. Her creativity and talent were illustrated through her craftwork. Alice also took an active role in raising her grandchildren, always taking them to church, and teaching them about the goodness of God.

Alice Inize Smith will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
