Alice Yvonne Thorne

Alice Yvonne Thorne, 73, of Charleston passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at her home. Alice was born in Van on March 23, 1938. She was retired from Nu Core as a machinist. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, who raised her, Selba and Clyde Lovejoy; father, Joy Ramey; son, Steve Thorne; brother, Woodrow Ramey; and great-grandson, Rodney "Little Man" Thorne II. She is survived by her sons, Dayton, Woodrow, and Rodney Thorne, all of Charleston, and Roger Thorne of Huntington; daughters, Marsha Thorne and Debbie (Paul) Woolwine, all of Charleston; brothers, James Ramey of Wellston, Ohio, and Gordon Ramey of Coalton, Ohio; sister, Laura Williams of Lagrange, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday July 6, 2011, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Isaac Withrow officiating. The burial will follow the service in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Her family and friends may call Tuesday, July 5, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Lorna Thorne for her love and care given to their mother.
