PEORIA - Alicia LaDonna Zipprich Butler, 55, of Peoria passed on Friday, September 7, 2018, at her home, with her mother by her side.
She was born on February 9, 1963, to LaDonna and the late Bill Zipprich. Her mother survives.
Alicia is also survived by one aunt, many cousins and other family and dear friends.
Her mother, Donna, was truly her best friend. Their love for one another was unmatched, as the two of them were inseparable. They could always be found cheering on the sidelines at the Peoria High and Bradley games, or showing their community pride by attending many Peoria area events. She was an avid Cubs fan.
She loved her dogs and cat, Cubbie, Dexter, Spot and Bradley. They are being rehomed to loving families that knew Alicia personally.
She was a lifetime resident, graduating from Washington Gifted School and Peoria High School, before attending Bradley University.
As a community leader, she was involved in many local Boards and events. She was part of the radio show Breakfast with Roger and Friends, formerly known as Breakfast with Royce and Roger. She was the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority Advisor, where she was passionately devoted to supporting the young women of that chapter. She recently resigned from the Peoria Area Community Events (PACE) Board which coordinates area events such as Gus Macker, Annual Santa Claus Parade and Taste of Peoria. She served on the Board and as the President of the Peoria Public Schools Board of Education. She was a Director of the Moss Bradley Residential Association. She was a secretary for the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame. She previously worked at Peoria Park District, helping organize all special events. She also worked for Primedia and Dynamic Graphics.
Alicia was a devoted caregiver for her mother, a community leader and supporter and a great friend to so many. She always showed love and compassion to everyone she met. She truly loved helping others in any way possible. She touched so many lives.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, 2416 N. North Street, Peoria, Illinois. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
