Alicia Relles
August 22, 1976 - August 9, 2021
Sacramento, California - Alicia Kay Relles passed away suddenly in her home on Monday, August 9th in Sacramento. She was the beloved daughter of Jim and Marilyn Relles. She was the cherished sibling of Haley (Nick) Burdick and Colby (Annie) Relles. She leaves behind her partner Kris Coney. Alicia was an adored and devoted niece, cousin, and granddaughter. She was a loving aunt to numerous blood-related nieces and nephews (Dahlia, JJ, and Samantha) and friend-related nieces and nephews that were the light of her life and heart. She was in VAPAC at Sacramento High School and went on to graduate from UC Santa Cruz with a with Bachelor of Arts degree. At both schools she made lifelong friends that became her extended family. Alicia was an active member of the community and involved in many organizations, charities and programs. She was a member of the Dante Club Auxiliary. She was a creative, loving, and artistic soul who shared her passions with family and friends. Alicia will be missed by all who knew her. Alicia was a good friend in high school, and I am shocked and deeply saddened by her passing. She was inspiring, caring, and the true leader of our pack. I admired Alicia for her creativity, she made any situation fun. One memory I have was from the school talent show, she was John Travolta and I was her partner, disco dancing in front of the entire school to disco inferno. She will be missed by all who knew her, I send love and prayers to the Relles family.

Alicia was a vital part of the group of students at Sacramento that I remember most fondly of all of the students I was privileged to meet in my career. She had the smile and gifts that brought joy to all she knew.

It´s hard to fathom that she´s gone and it´s impossible to list every single way she left a legacy of love for those who were lucky to call her a friend. None of us are even remotely ready for her to be gone and we are going to miss her sparkle so much. When our dinner club got together you knew her dishes would be absolutely delicious and gorgeously presented.
Whenever I had a question about plants, she immediately knew the answer (much of my backyard was planted with things she advised my husband and I on and we have 2 gorgeous philodendrons in our home we bought from her). When your heart or body were in pain, she was there with flowers, food, and all the support you needed. Even just going to the movies, she would bring amazing homemade snacks and drinks for everyone. I don´t think I´ll never know anyone like her again. I´ll never forget her and I´ll love her forever.

Alice Petta was a wonderful person and her namesake life summary reads like a fairy tale come true. My children were in VAPAC and also did very well in the creative arts. I did not know Alice but probably saw her at Arberesh picnics which her fathedr,Jim, so faithfully kept going. To Tommy,Ross, Jim and the Relles family my condolences. May she rest in peace..Tony Damiani

I went to Sacramento High School with Alicia. She was outgoing and welcoming and approached me and became literally my first friend at the school. She was so beautiful and artistic and I thought she was the coolest. She spent the next 4 years keeping an eye on me, encouraging me. I couldn't thank her enough for that incredible kindness.

I had known Alicia for a little over 8 years. I had gone with her over the years on her annual birthday rafting trip and I had spent many nights and weekends taking care of her cats that she had loved so much. Alicia was a very kind person who cared deeply for her friends, and she literally would be at their bedside in the hospital for days on end when they found themselves there. It´s really hard to believe that she is gone. My sincere condolences to her family.

I live across the street from Alicia. She had been over at my house on Saturday with a bouquet of flowers to thank me for letting her use my pool which she didn´t have to do. She was always so thoughtful. She came by on Sunday to swim again with some friends. She had made a comment to me about not being in my house for a very long time and I asked her oh when were you in it last and apparently she had been born in this house. I had no idea. She was a wonderful happy soul who embraced life. I had the privilege of knowing someone who showed her kind spirit from the heart every day. I will always remember her and treasure that spirit of hers.

I have worked for the Relles family at various times throughout my career since 1997.
Alicia was always a shining star and inspired creativity in those around her.
Her influence will live on.
I love her personally, for having reached out to me during the pandemic, and for her ongoing support and encouragement.
Such a generous soul.
Gone far too soon.
My heart goes out to her parents, siblings, and partner.
Much love.

I have so many good memories of Alicia, from so many different times of our lives together. One of my favorites is when she did the flowers for my wedding, making my flower crown and all the corsages and boutonnières for our large families. I think of her on that day being everywhere at once: locating each and every elder and introducing herself but also up in the room where I was getting ready with other friends, calming my nerves. I´ve attached a photo of that moment, she was a wonderful friend to me on that day.

In late March of 2020, Alicia offered to do a flower crown making class for my daughter & her brownie troop over zoom.
When I came to pick up the flower crown kits I was completely blown away by the exquisite care she gave to making each flower crown making kit so perfect & beautiful. Each one was a work of art. She´d also spent hours putting these kits together. This was just who she was; incredibly generous, giving, kind, & always thinking of others. She was so amazingly creative, but her kindness & generosity surpassed that.
As childhood friends & neighbors, we´d known each other our whole lives. She was such a truly wonderful person, & she will be so sorely missed.
