Alicia Webb Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 22, 2018.
Alicia Victoria Webb, our beloved daughter and mother of Amya, was peacefully called home to be with her Lord at the tender age of 25, on January 22, 2018. She was surrounded by her family at her home in Windsor. Alicia, the middle child was born on November 5, 1992 in Hartford, CT to Owen and Paulette Webb. At a young age, Alicia had a way of captivating a room with her charisma and radiant smile. She had a natural love for people that could be seen through the relationships she built with family and friends. Her belief that everyone should be treated fairly was demonstrated in the way she interacted with people she encountered. She would greet you in such a way that made you feel valued and special. Alicia attended Windsor High School and graduated in the Class of 2010. In school, she was actively involved and became a member of the Gospel Choir and Girls Track and Field Team. Alicia furthered her education at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT and Capital Community College in Hartford, where she received her Associate of Science Social Service degree in 2016. Alicia’s love for young children led her to work at Educational Playcare in Windsor, as an Assistant Teacher and Activity Coordinator. Some of Alicia’s hobbies consisted of reading the bible, spending time with friends, sewing, baking, cooking, singing, and taking pictures from which she created the memorable album affectionately titled, Mommy and Me, featuring her beautiful daughter Amya. Each picture was captioned with a quote from the bible which showed her deep love and affection for her daughter. Her role as a devoted, nurturing mother was apparent each and every day. There were times that Alicia wasn’t feeling her strongest yet she pushed herself to fulfill her motherly responsibilities. Amya’s happiness meant everything to Alicia, and there were no obstacles that would stop her from ensuring that Amya was well taken care of. Alicia was selfless. She is loved and mourned by her parents, Owen Paul Webb and Paulette (Gibbs) Webb of Windsor; her precious daughter and the light of her life, Amya Webb; a sister, Annika Edgerson and her fiance Roger Maybin; a brother, Isaiah Webb; and a nephew, Malachi Griffin. She also leaves a wealth of supportive family and friends behind to cherish her memories including her grandparents, Icelyn Adams, Samuel Webb, and Millicent Webb; aunts and uncles, Sophia Lindsay, Henry Martin, Jacqueline Simpson, Loretta Bennett, Peter Webb, Londerlee Henriques, Kirkel Webb; a great-aunt, Janet Williams; special cousins, Shamaneka McKenzie, Chyna Lindsay, Camryn Lindsay, Cyana Lindsay, Alphaeus (Parnell) Bennett, Joshua Bennett, Movell Henriques, Jr., Tiana Henriques, Keith Simpson Jr., Samuela Simpson, Nathaniel Webb, Joni Webb, Brandon Webb, Andre Brainbridge, Abigail Webb, and Peter Webb, Jr. In addition to a host of relatives and extended family and friends, she is also survived by Juliette Edwards, Doyle Scott Sr., Linda Scott, Martha Telca-Ouellette, and her best friend Jodi-Kae Joseph. Alicia was predeceased by her grandfather, Alvin Gibbs and an uncle, Colin McKenzie. Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 at Rehoboth Church of God, 1170 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield with viewing and visitation from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., followed by a home going service at 12 p.m. and burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Amya Webb Educational Fund c/o Windsor Federal Savings, 250 Broad St., Windsor, CT 06095.

Alicia you will so be missed. I loved joking with you. Your smile brightened some dark days for me. You left me with two lessons. Kindness no matter who and bravery no matter what you are facing. You will find the strength. You will always be in my heart. Rest easy sweet angel.
