ALISHA NICOLE LOONEY passed away on May 9, 2022, at the age of 36, in her hometown of Rocky Gap, Virginia. She was an incredible mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Alisha was willing to help anyone, regardless of circumstances, even if it meant giving the shirt off her own back. She loved the people around her fiercely and made life exciting. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and pushing limits.
Alisha was born on October 8, 1985, to David and Tammy Childress Looney in Bluefield, WV. After graduating from Rocky Gap High School in 2003, she moved to Claremont, NC. Alisha devoted her life to her children, Ean, Alex, and RyLee. While raising her three children, Alisha graduated from Catawba Valley Community College with an AAS in Accounting and Finance in 2013. She worked in a variety of fields but most importantly taught everyone how to find humor in any situation. She also opened her heart fully to those brought into her life, especially children. She was the aunt and “Sissy” to Djounaydi and Tidjane, second mother to Nate, and stepmother to Lexi, Chanley, and Aaron, Jr.
Alisha was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Russell Childress, maternal great-grandparents, Floyd and Nina Childress, Charles and Stella Stowers, paternal grandparents Randolph and Gladys Looney, maternal uncle and aunt Floyd “Ty” and Donna Childress, and nephews Mikel and Mileke Looney.
She is survived by her children, Ean Looney, Alexis Moore, and RyLee Moore, stepchildren, Alexis Dunning, Chanley Dunning, and Aaron Moore, Jr., honorary son, Nate Brewer, her companion Joshua Havens, parents David and Tammy Childress Looney, sister Nattasha Counta, brother-in-law Cheikh Counta, nephews Djounaydi Counta and Tidjane Sidibe, her grandmother, Bernice Childress and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated. There are no public services planned.
The Looney family is in the care of A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, avestandsons.com, (540) 921-2985.

I hadn't had the pleasure of knowing Alisha but only a couple years, but from what I had known of her she was awesome! She loved her babies! She would always talk about them! Prayers go out to the family! While it may be a loss for those of us left here on earth, Heaven gained another Angel!
