Allan SHERMAN Obituary

Published by Ottawa Citizen on Apr. 10, 2015.
SHERMAN, Allan
October 20, 1944 – April 3, 2015
It is with great sadness the family of Allan Max Sherman announces his passing on April 3, 2015 in his 70th year after a long and courageous battle with cancer in Ganges, Salt Spring Island BC. Born and raised in Ottawa, Allan's exuded charm, inherited entrepreneurial spirit and passion for sales, led to a career that spanned business ranging from music and audio products, commercial real estate through to cell phones, satellites and finally computer diagnostics. When moving to Salt Spring Island, he found another creative outlet and his artistic work as a stone carver won him acclaim throughout the island. Allan often spoke of fond memories from his youth, which included summers spent at Camp B'nai Brith, working at the family store Sherman's Musicland and his love of cars, none better then his '65 GTO. Predeceased by his parents Frieda (nee Mosion) and Alex Sherman, Allan is survived by his daughter Shayna (Graham Tissot), granddaughter Tova, his loving wife Janet Worthington and her son Robert Longley. Allan will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

What can I say about my BEST FRIEND?
The times we had together were so much fun. Our trips we went on and did nothing but laugh. Hey good friend you left one week ago to-day and I keep on thinking about you.
Allan, rest in peace and GOOD BYE MY BUDDY.

Have been thinking of all the good times we had as kids. Seeing each other every day as you lived down the street. Rest in peace dear cousin and until we meet again.

I was Allan's younger neighbor growing up in Highland Park Ottawa in the 60's and today I happen to live in one of the two side by side homes his father built. Last summer he and a friend drove by to see his old neighborhood and and I happened to be outside. We got to say hi and reminisce a bit about those times.
I'm glad he was able to retrace his life steps and he seemed to be enjoying his time doing so. A nice guy. Sorry to learn of his passing.

As children we lived near to each other, went to camp together, and shared a community. Alan was always energetic, sometimes too so, but we'll worth experiencing.
