Joseph Carroll Breeden of Charlottesville, VA, 67, left this life and returned to the earth on September 18, 2025 at Poplar Hill Health and Rehabilitation, with a daughter by his side, peacefully.
"Joe" Breeden was born on December 24, 1957 in Charlottesville, VA to the late Thelma E (Flynt) and Elijah L. Breeden. He was proceeded, also, by a beloved brother and sisters, loved ones and friends.
Joe had a natural talent for anything that could be created or fixed by his hands; furniture making, artist, taxidermy, and all general mechanics. Though he was talented at any of those things, he spent his career in the automotive industry, in a variety of capacities. He was a great lover of music of all genres and collected music, even in the last months of his life. He was a natural guitarist with a pitch perfect ear and self taught, never learning to read music. He was the definition of self-taught through his own curiosity and motivation.
He is survived by his children Joseph C. Breeden, Christopher M. Breeden, Casey V. Gibson, Catherine E Travis; his grandchildren Garrad Breeden, GW Gibson, Dana Gibson, Gabrielle Breeden, Damien Rohm, Brayden Gibson, and Wilhelmina Travis; 3 great grandchildren; a sister; nieces, nephews, cousins; and lifelong friends.
Honoring his wishes, there will be no services, at this time but, family will gather, privately, for a Celebration of Life and spreading of ashes in the near future.
