Allen Dozier lost his battle to Cancer on April 18, 2017. He was born to Mary Arnold and Edwin Dozier August 30, 1954 and was the 3rd of eight children.
Allen's love for boxing begins as a child while growing up in Philadelphia. While defending his golden glove welterweight title August 1977, the same fight card with Muhammad Ali. Deborah Clouser asked him for his autograph.
Allen and Deborah were married September 15, 1979. They remained in Harrisburg and raised their children Amanda D. Dozier and Allen Dozier II.
Allen always enjoyed working. He worked for flagger force and was a very talented concrete designer. He owned Straight Line Contractors, Inc.
Allen was a son of the American Legion, Post 733, Harrisburg, PA and active in the American Legion Post 184, Wildwood, NJ.
Allen and Deborah retired in 2012 and moved to Wildwood, NJ. They absolutely loved the ocean life. Allen was the best fisherman ever. He would say "Set it" "Wait" "got'em". However his love for working landed him a job at the local Walmart as an auto mechanic where he leaves many friends. Allen was loved by anyone that met him.
Allen was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Matt. And leaves his devoted wife, Deborah Dozier; 2 children, Amanda D. Dozier and Allen Dozier II; 4 grandchildren, D'Yani Bordner, Royce Walk, A'yden Walk, and Serenity Dozier; 5 sisters, Betty Kabba, Janice Wheeler, Antoinette Dozier, Denise Tinsdale, and Delores Stephens; and 1 brother, Edwin Dozier Jr.; and a host of family and forever life friends.
All are welcome to Celebrate Allen's Life with the family on Saturday, April 29, 2017, 1:00 p.m., at Kingdom Embassy, 2111 N. 4th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
