She was employed by the U.S. Customs Service during WWII and by General Motors in Baltimore and Boston while her husband attended the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and the New England Conservatory in Boston from which he graduated with an Artist Diploma. Allie was a retired deputy clerk for the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Hillsborough County after 22 years of service. She taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church and Bayshore Baptist Church in Tampa for many years. She also served as facilitator of the Women's Missionary Union at Bayshore Baptist Church for a number of years. Throughout her growing years, she was a performing member of the Friday Morning Musicale as well as the community theater. Allie was an active member of the West Hyde Park Civic Association and in later years as a performer with the West Coast Cloggers - one of the joys of her life.
