Brenda,
Please accept our deepest sympathy for the loss of your Mom. We'll all deeply miss Aunt Alma.

I'll always remember how quiet, gentle and loving she was. Your Dad shared those same qualities. Your Mom and Dad were wonderful people and always very devoted to each other, to you and also to family. Through the years, you were always very close to your Mom and Dad, and you were always there for them. I hope that the attentive, loving care that you provided your Mom in her final years will help to give you peace and comfort. Now your Mom and Dad are together again in a better place.

Your Mom occupies a place in one of my earliest memories. She baby sat one night for Dickie and me and I remember how big she was when she was standing over me and giving me a fresh diaper. I wasn't accustomed to having celebrity diaper changers and I guess everybody looked big at the time. Your Mom did a good job, didn't stick me and I still remember it after more than 60 years.

I always enjoyed your Mom's sweet smile whenever I went over to her to say “Hi” and to visit with her. Brenda, you truly had wonderful parents and I think they were fortunate to have a wonderful, devoted daughter. I think you should take great comfort in the way you and Charles looked after your Mom in her final years so that her life could be as normal and as comfortable as possible.

Brenda, I hope to see you soon so I can give you a big hug.

Love, Bob and Pat Giraud

Dear Brenda,
Beth and I are so sorry for your lost. I would like to share a few memories I have with you. I remember your mom and dad at the table having their cup of tea. It didn't matter the time of day, it was just a simple enjoyment that they shared together.
Brenda, remember the dog Cindy, the German Shepard. She would go up to the cat and she would put the cat's head in her mouth. The cat would meow but then she got used to it!
My fondest memories are of the Christmas parties. Our families getting together, singing, playing music and grandpa telling stories. Later in life, I remember taking dance lessons with Mr. Wallie in their den. Your mother and father shared a love of dance. I hope these few memories will be of some comfort for you.
Love, Gary

Brenda, I wanted to share with you my first impression of your sweet mother. I met Aunt Alma when I was barely 13. David said come meet my Aunt Alma and Uncle Dick at their Christmas Eve party. They will like you. Aunt Alma patted me on the hand and with that sweet smile of hers, I knew she had welcomed me into the family. What wonderful years we spent together. All her Christmas Eve parties and then our Thanksgiving Dinners she loved so much. David and I will miss her dearly but consider ourselves blessed to have been able to enjoy so many happy times with her. There is no replacing our Mothers but with the passing of time, your faith in God, the love you and Charles share, and the knowledge that you were a wonderful daughter to her, will bring you through to brighter days. With Love & Prayers, Dottie & David Haydel, Harahan, LA

Mama,
I miss you so much!!! I will always cherish all of the good times that we have had. Our shopping sprees, dining at City Cafe & Ruffino's, traveling to new destinations every Christmas and watching the Saints games with dear friends. But, I know that you are now with Daddy, and you are both watching over me and dancing to your favorite song "Till The End Of Time".

Love Forever & A Day,
Brenda

Brenda, I only knew your Mom for the last 5 years, but I so enjoyed the stories she told of her past, meeting her husband & her love of dancing. I enjoyed watching Saints games with her & seeing her decked out in her Saints attire. She will be missed but I'm thankful that you had her in your life for all these years. She is finally at peace.
