In Loving Memory of Kay

Alma Kaythryn Jacobsen, known lovingly as "Kay" to family and friends, passed away peacefully on July 7th in San Marcos, California, at the age of 90.

Kay was born on October 14, 1934 in Sioux City, Iowa to Harold and Cereva Jones. She was the beloved sister of Betty, Cerold and Sally Jones. A woman of quiet strength and unwavering devotion, Kay lived a life centered around faith, family, and simple joys.

Kay married Harold Jacobsen from Homer and for 60 years, they shared a bond rooted in partnership, love, and dedication.

From their early days in Homer and Sioux City, they continued the journey to Lawton, IA where they raised their children and began watching the family continue to grow. Their grandchildren became the heart of their world.

In 1979 Harold and Kay moved to California. Side by side, they owned and operated a thriving RV repair business in Chula Vista for 35 years. After their well-earned retirement in 2014, Kay and Harold enjoyed three wonderful years traveling and spending cherished time with their growing family until Harold's passing.

Kay was a woman of grace and humility whose generosity and creativity touched the lives of everyone around her. She found joy in life's quiet moments, offering a listening ear, working on puzzles and creating a warm home where family always came first. Nothing made her prouder than her five children, 18 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, each of whom will carry a piece of her kind spirit forward.

She is survived by her devoted children: Kathy, Virginia, John, Bonnie, and Dean who will continue to honor her memory with love and gratitude.

Kay will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Miramar National Cemetery, a place of honor befitting their lifetime of commitment to each other and to their family.

Her legacy of generosity, creativity, and humility lives on in all who were lucky enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

We respectfully ask that you reach out to those you love and cherish in lieu of sending gifts and flowers to Kay. We feel his is the best way to honor Kay's loving and generous spirit.
