Alma Claire Locquiao was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Alma will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

Alma was born on September 3, 1980 in San Jose, California. She was the daughter of Alberto and Magdalena Locquiao. Alma grew up in San Jose, California.

Alma was raised with three siblings. She had two older brothers, Marvin and Mark, and one younger sister, Alyssa. Alma was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.

Fortunately, Alma enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Alma worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was as a veterinary technician. Alma always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.

Alma passed away on September 30, 2011 at home in San Francisco, California. She is survived by her parents, Alberto and Magdalena Locquiao; her brothers, Marvin and Mark; her sister, Alyssa; and the rest of her family and friends. Services were held at Oak Hill Funeral Home in the Chapel of the Oaks in San Jose, California. Alma was laid to rest in Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, California.

Simply stated, Alma was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Alma leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Alma Claire Locquiao.

Alma took great care of me in the short time we met, at the animal eye surgery center. I was heartbroken, and she helped me cope. My cat had cancer and had to have an eye removed. Alma made sure everything was fine. I think about alma to this day, 3 years later.

I knew Alma from the Balboa Pet Hospital and she always made me feel better when I had to bring my cat, Peanut, in for cancer treatment. She would greet me by name and ask me how I was doing. I knew that she was a kind, loving individual. She was the only person who wrote a personal note in the condolence card sent to me when Peanut passed. I just found out today that Alma is no longer with us and I will miss her energy greatly. My heart knew hers was true.

Dearest Alma, I cherish all the moments we shared together and count myself as one of the lucky few to have loved and been loved by you. Alma , I will miss you and will keep u in my heart as long as I live.
From the times we shared out and about in the evergreen hills , to the roof tops of favorite buildings under the moonlight, from hanging out in your old place in sj, to the long , funny , conversations we shared... Remember the time gabe kicked me while we were standing at the winery , kicked me on the jaw cause he was happy to be hanging out ... You took care of me ... Ty for sharing those moments with me .. I will never forget you as long as I live. May you rest in piece , I hope you are in a better place. I love you.

Such an amazing life cut short.

Alma was more than just a coworker at BPH. I grew up around Alma, i've known her since i was 15. She taught me to smile, and accept what life had handed me. She was a beautiful, creative soul, with so much vibrancy and laughter. When she walked into a room, you couldn't help but smile.

I will miss her every single day. I will miss having her beautiful spirit there to make me smile. Thank you for everything you taught, Alms. I love you and miss you more than words, but I know you were greeted at heaven's gate by my Papa.

Continue to laugh, and shine down upon us. I know you'll be there.

I could never say enough about Alma. She was one of the funniest people I have ever met. And so kind. I thought she was the coolest...she introduced me to all types of music that i fell in love with. I talk about her all the time, even when i hadn't seen her in a while. I always tell my friends they would love her and some obscure remark she had made. She was so loved and creative, a truly unique human being.
I loved her.
My thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.

The last time we spent together you were happy and laughing. You spent all night creating works of art and telling jokes with Doug. I regret not participating, but I am grateful Doug got the chance to spend some time with you, Alm. I brag about you all the time. I looked up to you, I absolutely adored being in your presence. The last thing you told me was that you would be up here to visit on Halloween. My heart aches that you will never make it up this way. I was so excited- secretly my plan was to make you fall in love with Portland so you could begin the pilgrimage of cousins (my fantasy that I would have all my cousins live in one city) :) I'm so sorry that you are gone, but I take comfort in my belief that you are in a grand place filled with all your favorite people, memories, and animals... maybe even the perfect thrift store where everything is ideal, and fits to a tee. I miss you, Alm. I'm sorry. I love you.

Alma, your light and vibrant energy shines so bright. From the first time I saw you, I had to know you. At break during art class, although I don't smoke, I would join you for a cigarette. I just wanted to be near you and get to know you. I'm so glad you came into my life. I was lucky too have known you. You will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will love you forever.
