Alton C. Hymel Jr.

Alton C. Hymel Jr., of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on October 6, 2021 surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 63. He is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on June 2, 1958, to his loving parents, the late Agnes R. Hymel and Alton C. Hymel Sr. Alton is the beloved husband of 40 years to Toni Dawson Hymel; cherished father of Scott Michael Hymel (Danielle) and Jennifer Marie Hymel Ledet (Joseph); and proud grandfather of Cameron, Cullen, Lucas, Wyatt, and Miri Ann. Alton is a graduate of Brother Martin with the Class of 1976. He was employed with Obsidian, Harris, Unisys, Burroughs, and most recently, Raytheon Technologies. Alton enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and relaxing on his porch in his spare time. He was an animal lover and liked watching hummingbirds, giving Rupert belly rubs, and rubbing Kilos ears and hearing him purr. Alton treasured nothing more than the time he spent with his family, especially playing with his grandkids and watching them act silly. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell. A Funeral Mass will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel. A private burial will take place at Greenwood Mausoleum in New Orleans at a later date.
