In reflection of "Doodie´s life, " there was ALWAYS something special about him. I remember when he was a child, he stood to the road in his pamper "looking at his surroundings." I would gently engage him to go back on the porch which he did quietly and respectfully. His soul and mannerisms were those of a loving, obedient, wise, and gentle man. God gifted him with a precious smile. He was the baby brother from across the street for us. Carey, Cornelius (Dukie) and Willie(Doodie) we´re joined at the hip. Brother, I´m devastated! My thoughts are with Melinda, the children, Ms. Brenda, and St. Gabriel. GOD is calling our Saints home. We MUST be ready. Doodie, walk around heaven all day. We´re heart - broken brother. Kiss our family members in heaven. My GOD, another angel at your feet.

Melinda, Doodie's smile is etched in my memory and he will be forever in our hearts. Neicy, your lover, friend, husband is now eternally, in the hands of the One True God. We, the Valentines, loved Doodie so much & will miss him dearly. Now..... who's gonna do the turkey wings at our annual family outing? Brenda, children, may God keep you at peace for the loss of your son, your father. May we all, who loved Doodie, be at peace and help each other with this unexpected departure. But, only God, knows the number of our days. There will be sad days ahead....but, let us trust, that through all this, we will find ourselves smiling more than we shed tears. You and your brothers were like brothers to me growing up. You especially were my little brother I didn't have by blood. But God made up for it with you. I remember in the mornings catching the bus you would be having a rough morning but we were there for each other. And whenever you missed the bus momma would bring you to school. As you became a man we were so proud of the wonderful husband and father you were. Momma loved ya'll so much and you were good to her until her life ended. Give momma a hug and kiss for me.
