Alveiro Valencia, age 75, of Sunrise, FL, departed this world on Saturday January 6th, 2024. He was surrounded by his wife, children and sisters in his final moments. Al, as many knew him, was born in Bogota, Colombia August 30,1948 to Gerardo Valencia & Otilia Silva. In 1968 he followed his dreams to America, where his wife later joined him and together they raised a family. As the patriarch of an extended family Alveiro served as a pillar to many who embarked on the American dream, never to shy away from lending a helping hand. Left to cherish his memory and carry his legacy are his wife Amparo Valencia, son Stewart (Lisa) Valencia, daughter Vanessa (Oreste) Vazquez, grandchildren Lucas E. Valencia, Amelia R. Valencia, Julian A. Vazquez & Sophia E. Vazquez, sisters Nydia Rodriguez, Martha Silva, Marlene Valencia and brother Gerardo Valencia. Awaiting him in the afterlife are his father, mother and beloved brother Enrique "Henry" Valencia.

A funeral mass will be held in remembrance of Alveiro on Saturday January 13th, 2024 at 1pm ET at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, in the Chapel located at 1301 SW 136th Avenue Davie, Fl 33325. A live stream link will be shared the morning of the ceremony.

Queridos familiares: Deseamos expresarles nuestros sentimientos de solidaridad y gran pesar por la triste noticia de la partida de Alveiro, nuestro muy querido primo. Compartimos con ustedes este dolor, también nos afecta profundamente, los acompañamos con cariño. Alveiro deja entre nosotros los mas gratos recuerdos: por su carisma, su inteligencia y Señorío; también por su fino humor, la transparencia de su carácter, y tras su aparente reciedumbre, su inmensa nobleza. Vamos a extrañar muchisimo su alegría festiva, su voz inconfundible, su familiaridad, los bellos momentos que a todos nos obsequio. Hasta siempre, buen viaje hacia los confines del universo. Caballero del ensueño, querido primo Alveiro.

Alveiro quien siempre tendrá un espacio en mi corazón y mis recuerdos. Fue una persona admirable, con un buen corazón, destacándose como una persona generosa y amable, "siempre decía que la familia es lo más importante que para eso estába para ayudar a la familia".
