Alvin T. Beckett

The family of Alvin T. Beckett, 59, of Groveland, sadly announce his passing on April 5, 2023. He was called home to be with the Lord after fighting a courageous battle with a brief illness. Alvin was born a leap year baby (1964) in Huntington, West Virginia to Linda Hamilton Jackson and the late William “Bill” Beckett, Sr. He was employed as an auto mechanic for over 30 years. In his leisure time, Alvin enjoyed boating, fishing, and fixing things. Most importantly, however, he loved being the best husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle, friend and #1 Pepaw. Alvin will be missed by so many including Rena (Moore), his teenage sweetheart and wife of 42 years; his sons: Wesley Beckett and wife Leighann, Jamie Beckett and partner Samantha and Matthew Beckett and partner Sarah; his mother Linda Hamilton Jackson and husband Dale; his mother-in-law Billow Moore Hall; his siblings: Hazel Beckett and partner Deborah, Michelle Holland and husband Richard, Lloyd “Mouse” Beckett and partner Lachele, and Noah Beckett; his adored grandchildren: Aaliyah, Mariyah, Jaylon, Symari, Brantley, Easton and Langston along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. In addition to his father, Alvin was predeceased by his stepmother Carol Sue; his brothers: William “Rock” Beckett and William Walter “Junior” Beckett; his niece Renasia; his sister-in-law Lawanda Parker Beckett and his “brother” Shane Bridges. 

A Celebration of Alvin's Life will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Lake David Center (former Women's Club) at Lake David, 405 S. Lake Avenue, Groveland, FL.
