Alvin Harry Lundgren

Alvin Harry Lundgren was born August 13, 1939, to Harry and Eva Lundgren in Centralia, WA.
Al started a career in banking after completing the Pacific Coast Banking School through the University of Washington. Al was assigned his first bank branch, as a loan office, in Centralia, WA, followed by promotions to the Longview and Vancouver branches before his promotion to the National Bank of Commerce head officer in Seattle. After 2 years in the Trust Department, Al was promoted to Residential Trust Officer in Gray's Harbor County, Aberdeen, WA.
Al left the banking business in 1968 to learn the family automotive business. In 1970 the family purchased a Volkswagen Porsche Audi dealership in Yakima, WA. The business and employees enjoyed numerous awards, including the appointment of Al to the Volkswagen National Dealer Council.
Al Lundgren Volkswagen sponsored an American Legion baseball team called the Beetles. The Beetles won numerous state championships and the American Legion World Series title in 1975 and 1978.
Al loved sports, both as a player and a spectator and was involved in recruiting for the University of Washington and was a Tyee member.
Most recently, Al formed a Publisher Distribution service overseeing the distribution of four newspapers, real estate books and commercial publication on the North Coast of Oregon.
Survivors include his beloved, Sherry Frost, sister Charlotte Wegener and her husband, Jack Wegener, five sons, Todd, Rick, Paul, Kyle and Reid, grandchildren, Zooey, Rainier, Calvin and Spencer, nieces, Cheryl and Kim and nephew, Bob.
Al's family will be hosting a Celebration of Life to remember Al on April 11th, 1-4pm, at the family residence, 2210 Skyline Drive, Seaside, OR.
