Amadeus Magpile Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 9, 2022.

It is with great sadness that the family of Amadeus "Mady" Luciano Magpile announce his passing on Monday, August 22, 2022, at the age of 81 years old.  Amadeus was predeceased by the love of his life, Ana Maria Francisco Magpile, with whom he was married for 57 years.  Amadeus spent the last 3-1/2 years since his wife's passing talking about how much he looked forward to seeing her again in Heaven.  Amadeus will be lovingly remembered by his children, Michael (Susan), Mylene, and Michelle (Greg).  He will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Michaela, Malia, Matthew, Luke and Jack, as well as his sisters Carmen (Arthur) Gomez and Leticia (Victor) Ruiz.

Amadeus was born in the Philippines but emigrated to the United States with his young family in 1966.  He was initially headed to Chicago but decided to settle in Southern California.  Amadeus loved a challenge and adventure.  After studying architecture and engineering, Amadeus found a career working with the reinforcing steel industry.  He challenged himself to start his own reinforcing steel consulting company and thus Barlines Reinforcing Estimating and Detailing, Inc. was born.  Amadeus was dedicated to his company and worked tirelessly to see it succeed.  He was so proud when Barlines Philippines opened its doors.  But Amadeus was not all work and no play.  His adventurous spirit led him to many hobbies.  He learned how to play golf.  He got a pilot's license and learned how to fly a piper cherokee and glider planes.  When the opportunity presented itself, he joined a friend and went on an African Safari where he put his love of photography to use.  But his greatest pastime were the years he enjoyed sailing on his sailboat to Catalina or Mexico with friends and family.  Amadeus used to speak of "legacy" a lot.  His greatest legacy and that which he was most proud was the closeness of his family.  Along with his wife, Amadeus loved that their children did not tire wanting to be around them and that they still wanted to spend their weekends, holidays and vacation days together.  He was proud that his children were raising their own children with that same sense of family closeness.  A great legacy indeed.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me - God wanted me now, God set me free.
