Columbus, Georgia- Amanda Simpson Stewart, age 32, resident of Columbus, died on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Columbus Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Sunday, November 25, 2012, 3 p.m. with Reverend Glenn Presley officiating. Private interment will be Monday, November 26, 2012 at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 2-4 p.m.
Amanda was born January 6, 1980 in Columbus. She attended Harris County High School, was currently a student at Columbus Technical College, and attended New Vision Christian Ministries, Waverly Hall, Georgia.
Amanda was preceded in death by her grandfather, David Simpson. She is survived by her husband, Gary Stewart of Columbus; three sons, Dalton Quillin of Harris County, Georgia, Daniel McGowan of Columbus, and Tyler Stewart of Pine Mountain, Georgia; her father, Phillip Simpson and his wife Deborah of Cataula, Georgia; paternal grandmother, Edna Simpson of Cataula, Georgia; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
