AMBER ELIZABETH CHANEY


Amber Elizabeth Chaney, age 30, of Anabel, MO, passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, on November 26, 2016.


Amber was born on May 22, 1986, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Dan Robert Hogan and Kathy Ann Mortensen. She was united in marriage to Thomas Chaney on November 7, 2015, in Clarence, MO. He survives.


Amber is survived by her parents, grandparents; two siblings, Adam Hogan and wife Audrey of Joplin, MO, and Krystin Stroud and husband Tyler of Webb City, MO; in-laws, Kyle Chaney of Knob Knoster, MO, Yoshi and Josh Schoenbein of Morton, IL, and Brishia and Derrick Jones and nieces, Alayna and Maiselle of Reisterstown, MD; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.


She is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Dorothy Hogan and Joanie Hogan.


Amber was a member of the Clarence Christian Church in Clarence, MO, and served as a youth sponsor within the church. She enjoyed camping, watching movies, musicals, gardening, taking care of animals, and being around children. Everyone will always remember her contagious smile and her love for hugging people. She especially cherished her time spent with her family and loved ones.


Memorial services will be 11am, Friday, December 2, 2016, at the Clarence Christian Church, in Clarence, MO, with her uncle, Kurt Mortensen, as the officiant. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at the church. Memorials may be made to the Chaney family for funeral and medical expenses.
