Amber Renee Shaw DeMar

Amber Renee Shaw DeMar, 42, of Alexander, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 30. She was born July 17, 1977, to Bud Shaw and Renee Butler Shaw in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Amber worked for the Little Rock Police Department for 19 years, and most recently worked as a top saleswoman for Reed's Metals of Benton. Her  favorite role, however, was being both Sami's mom and dad, after the tragic passing of Sami's father in 2015. Amber was a free spirit whom always seemed to
find an adventure. Perhaps that's why she loved driving the open road so much in Stella, her Mustang. One thing is for certain, her glowing smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David DeMar; her grandfather, Clayton Butler; and her grandmother, Sandy
Shaw.  
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Samantha "Sami" DeMar; her grandmother, Gail Butler, of
Bryant; her grandfather, Robert Shaw Sr., of Malden, Missouri; a brother, Alex Shaw, of Benton; a sister, Nicole Tallman, of Sherwood; two stepchildren, Tyler DeMar, of
Indianapolis, and Thomas DeMar, of Monroe, Louisiana; and a number of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, countless friends and her beloved dog, Lexi.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Ashby Funeral Home.
