Amelia Soliz Castaneda

Amelia Castaneda, 86, of Big Spring, TX went to be with our Lord on March 7, 2015.
Amelia was born in Tynan, TX on August 21, 1928 to Claudia Aguirre and Theodore Solis. Amelia was
married to Pedro Castaneda on November 11, 1945. They were married for forty years.
Amelia enjoyed being with family, watching her kids and grandkids grow up. She enjoyed family time
with siblings, reminiscing about good times.
Amelia is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Castaneda; mother Claudia Aguirre; father, Thedore
Solis; three sisters, Manuela Gonzalez, Francisca Perez, and Maria Gutierrez; three brothers, Luciano
Soliz, Jose M. Aguirre, and Ramon Aguirre; son in law, Pete Ortega; and niece, Sandra Gutierrez.
Amelia is survived by a brother, Luis Aguirre of Mathis, TX; daughter, Pat Ortega of Big Spring, TX; sons,
Ricky and wife Irene Castaneda of Midland, TX, Joe and wife Connie Castaneda of Midland, TX, and
Esiquio Castaneda of Big Spring, TX; ten grandkids, nineteen great grand kids and fifteen great great-
grandkids.
Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 and Wednesday, March
11, 2015 at Ellis Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Funeral
services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Stephens Catholic Church. Burial will
follow at Lamesa, TX.
