Dear Kirenza and family: I'm not sure if you will remember us but we (me and my daughter) knew your mother for several years during the 1980's. We had lost contact over the years but I want you to know that she helped me during a very difficult time in my life. I will always be thankful for that and I will always remember her warmth and friendship. God bless you and your family. She was so proud of you, even back then. Our sincerest sympathy, Kathy Jaques and Stefanie Jaques Neale

My condolences go out to Amelia's family. Amelia was a customer of mine at Shopper's Drug Mart in the Post office. She was such a wonderful person and one that was very proud of her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she and I would exchange stories of them when she came in. I am going to miss her. Diane Greenham.

My condolences to you and your family in the loss of your mother, Amelia.
I first met her in the 1970s when we both worked at Maryvale, her as a night staff and me as a support person for all the night staff. She was a very fun, interesting and thoughtful person. She showed me how to make chicken curry using proper South African spices.
She told me about mistakenly thinking she was adopted as she was short, while her father and brothers were well over 6 1/2 ft tall, without her considering (until forced to do so by her mother), that her mother was shorter than she was and that she simply took after her mother and not her father. She laughed about this.
We had both visited the eastern Arctic back in the 1970s and therefore shared our separate experiences while there. We always kept in touch throughout the years, though not on a regular basis. I always enjoyed my time with her.

I knew Amelia in the sixties - just before and just after her marriage. I was asked to accompany her to London, on her way to Canada, and grew to like her immensely when illness prolonged her stay in London - a lovely sense of humour to fend off any adversity. She was a lovely person then, and it seems she stayed that way.

Amelia was a great lady. Her biggest asset was her compassion towards others. I had the privilege to be her friend at the University of Windsor during our Social Work career and later working together at Huron Lodge. We were together in the good times and in the not so good times supporting each other. It was an honour to be her friend. I will miss her. Vivian
