Simonetti

Amelia "Mim" Simonetti, 90, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday evening, March 23, 2004.

Born on Jan. 14, 1914, she lived in Akron her entire life, and attended Hammel Business College. She married Frank Simonetti in 1942 and was active in the Faculty Wives' Club at the University of Akron.

Mim loved to bake and her specialty was cheesecake. She liked to garden and at one time had 150 rose bushes. She was also very skilled at needlepoint and made many chairs, footstools, and pictures. She also liked to play cards, read, listen to music, and dance. In the 1960s and 1970s she and her husband traveled all over the world with their daughter and friends. They brought back from their travels many beautiful things for their home and for gifts. Later in life Mim enjoyed making thousands of beaded Christmas ornaments. She loved to cover her tree with them and gave hundreds away to friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Frank L. Simo netti, who took such good care of her; her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jack and Judy Simonetti of Toledo; daughter and son- in-law, Diane and Domenico Lazzerini of Akron; her grand children, Lynn (Dr. Jeff) Doty of Columbus, Mark (Shannon) Si monetti of Toledo, Terri (James) Frost of Columbus, Paul (Julie) Simonetti of Michigan, Margaret, Frank, and Anne Lazzerini, all of Akron; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Alexandria and Brooke Doty of Columbus, Nicholas Simonetti, and Cole Simonetti. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, their children, other relatives, and many good friends.

She was preceded in death and has gone to meet in heaven her parents, Charles and Fanny Danas; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Dr. Nicholas Tsaloff; beloved nephew, Daniel Tsaloff; and darling great-niece, Julie Arnold.

Baba, we will love you and miss you forever.
