Doc Allen was one of a kind which is why he will be so missed for his trusted expertise, honesty, and heart for animals. I had the privilege of knowing him and bringing my dogs to him for many years. He even took one of my puppies and loved her so. I recently had to go to him for my beloved pet and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God orchestrated that time for Doc Allen to be there for me and my beloved pet. At that time, I didn't know about his wife's passing, but when he told me, I told him that he would see her again. He replied, 'I sure hope so.' I believe that he has not only been reunited with Shirley, but has seen the King of kings and Lord and lords and that ALL of the animals that he has touched are surrounding him even now. Prayers of surpassing peace and eternal hope for his family and all who knew him here on this earth. It makes Heaven all that more sweeter.

I was so surprised to hear of Doc's passing. He and Shirley were very dear to us. He was our vet for over 27 years. I will miss staying after the office closed to joke and laugh with them both. I know he missed his wife so much. He was always there when we needed him and could make us laugh when we thought we could not. He has treated pets for my whole family. We thought there was no one like him. We will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers.

He was a very patient man. He would always have an extra syringe for us as kids. He would also let us wash his boots with the brush and bucket. The very first check I wrote was to Dr Allen for $21 for medicine for my pigs. Fond memories of a great man and a great veterinarian. -Ben Yost

Words cannot accurately express how much I will miss Doc. Over the past 41 years we have indeed been through a lot! His wit, humor and matter of fact advice got me through so many hurdles. I'm going to miss walking into his office and hearing him say "Did you break your Wiener again?" To the man, the myth, the legend.....Rest In Peace.
