Amy DePry Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 25, 2022.
Beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, doctor and friend to many, Amy Nicole DePry passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on May 23rd, 2021. Her friends and family will continue to honor her legacy through holding fond memories of her in their hearts and living their lives to the fullest.

Born in San Diego and a lover of the outdoors, Amy was passionate about health and the importance of maintaining a balanced wellbeing. She was a skilled athlete; she earned state championships in track and field, played soccer into adulthood, taught Pilates and once competed in a 100 mile bike ride along the coast of California. Her passion for health led her to pursue a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine with a Specialty in Reproductive Health, the only provider in Nevada with this designation. She felt honored to be able help many women improve their fertility and support them throughout their pregnancies and postpartum recoveries.

Amy had an adventurous and free spirit. She visited and lived in many countries including China, Guam, Mexico, and several others throughout Europe and Asia to further her education, build new friendships and satisfy her wanderlust. Amy deeply appreciated the beauty in art, music and nature and inspired this feeling in those who were fortunate to share a hike, music festival or museum outing with her. The shared love of music was one of the qualities that drew her to her husband Chris.

Amy had a great sense of humor. She appreciated clever puns, the comicality of awkward moments, and the hilarity in things her children would say. She could light up any room with her dazzling smile and had an infectious laugh that took no prisoners. Above all, she loved her children. She participated in music class with them, volunteered in their preschool and created raised garden beds to share the love of gardening passed from her mother to her own children. Although admittedly not a chef, she made homemade pancakes and cakes in the shape of her children's favorite Disney characters on a regular basis. She wanted her children to have lives full of the things she found wonderful: nature, music, art and most of all love. Amy was truly a shining light in our lives that will never dim.

She is survived by her husband Chris Berg, two children Adaline (4) and Logan (2), her mother Leanne, father Dennis, step-father Greg, sister Jennifer, step-sister Casey, sisters-in-law Shannon and Tu, brothers Daryl and Dwayne, brothers in law Mikey and Mike, as well as 5 nieces and 5 nephews.

I don't even know what to say. Amy was in my life for just a few months but she made an impact that will last forever.
Her and I met in a very weird and difficult time in my life. I probably couldn't have behaved any "weirder" than I did.
I looked up Amy this morning to talk to her because I just learned a couple of weeks ago that I have been living with autism my entire life, specifically Asperger's, and this would explain everything.
I was really looking forward to sharing a few laughs with her at my expense.

Amy- may your souls rest easy and I will see you again in the next dimension. I know you've already ascended and the rest of us have some catching up to do.
With eternal love and friendship,
Mike
