Amy Roberts Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 5, 2024.
Laura Amy Roberts (Hannon), passed away on August 20, 2024, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, at the age of 78. Born March 3, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida, Amy dedicated her life to the care and dignity of the elderly, serving passionately as a Nursing Home Administrator for over 45 years.

Amy was a graduate of Lakeview High School in Winter Garden, Florida, and furthered her education at the University of Florida. Her commitment to her career was paralleled by her deep love and commitment to her family.

Described by those who knew her as fun, selfless, and compassionate, Amy was a beloved mom, Mimi, sister, and friend. She found joy in gardening, cooking, beach walking, eating ice cream in bed, and exploring nature trails. These hobbies reflected her love for the outdoors and her zest for life.

Amy is survived by a loving family: her son, Samuel Crawford; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Matthew Young; grandchildren, Jacob and Danaé Young, and Justin Young; great-grandchildren, Emma and Hudson Young; sister and brother-in-law, Candyce and Ed Serafin; their children and grand children; Ryan (Syrus) Hutchinson, Shaun Hutchinson, Sean (Nicole) Serafin, Matt (Stephanie) Serafin, and Candyce and Ed's grandchildren Colby, Cam and MJ. Amy's brother, Tom Hannon and his daughter Cynthia Wecklein. She is also survived by her other sisters, Mary Leach and Sissy Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rusty and Laura Hannon.

A service to celebrate Amy's life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach on October 19, 2024, at 2 pm. Her life's work and love will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate to know her. Friends and family are welcome to join.

It asked my first memory with "Amy". As her daughter, I never thought of my first memories with her. But I reflected and honestly, my first memory with my mom is her letting me sleep in the bed with her when my dad was on shift. I felt so safe and comforted.
