Anastasia Tomasello Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 29, 2021.
Anastasia Volikakis Tomasello was born on November 3rd, 1968, and passed away on May 29th, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. She was a devoted mother, wife, and daughter and loved to tap into her creative side by making beautiful wreaths, pillows, and many other crafts. Anastasia had a never-fading smile and a kind word to say about everyone. Anastasia was a native Bay Area resident. Growing up in South San Francisco, she graduated from El Camino High School and earned a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business from San Francisco State University. She enjoyed a 20-year career with the San Bruno Park School, working in various roles within the Library Services and Business departments. She retired from the school district in 2019 and moved to Oakdale, CA. Anastasia was proceeded in death by her daughter, Tatiana Tomasello, and is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her father, George Volikakis; mother, Lida Stelmashenko; her brother Christos Volikakis; her son, Nikolas Tomasello; her daughter, Kiara Tomasello; and the family's German Shepard, Zeus. A private service will be held Tuesday evening, June 8, 2021. Friends and family are invited to a funeral service on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 12:30pm at Greek Orthodox Memorial Park in Colma, CA (in the mausoleum). Please note we will still be practicing social distancing and face coverings are required. Seating for the funeral will be limited and your view may be obstructed. Due to Covid restrictions, a private reception will be held after the service and a larger celebration of life event will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA would be appreciated.

There is no one in our family and friends circle whose heart *your* heart and sweetness did not touch, Tasia. Your loving presence still and forever fills the chalice of our lives. I have uncountable memories of your smiling sweet demeanor, of your caring for all in your orbit, of your shy-ish humor. I look forward to a happy reunion with you in the Greater Life that follows this one. Until then, may the Angels and the Blessed Presence of the Eternal One be your co-pilots. Love you.

I never would have felt ready to say goodbye to someone as special as Anastasia, but this timing especially feels tough. Anastasia was a great daughter, wife, mother, friend. I will cherish our conversations. I believe she walks beside us everyday unseen, unheard but always near. Anastasia was such a special person that no words are really adequate. Rest In Peace sweetheart.

Tasia was always a caring, kind-hearted soul. I've known her since high school and she was one of the sweetest people I knew. We bonded over both being introverts and I appreciated that she didn't get involved in petty high school drama. She hired me to create advertising for her Cherished Moments business back in the 1990's and I used her business for my wedding and first baby shower. She was beautiful, inside and out, and I know she'll live on in the hearts and memories of loved ones!
