CUNNINGHAM, Andrea Marie "Andy"
May 10, 1956 - February 22, 2012
After a 14-month struggle with cancer, Andy passed away at peace at the Leduc Hospital on Wednesday, February 22nd. She was 55. "Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27b. This verse was Andy's favourite, and appropriately encapsulates the kind, generous and loving spirit that was her nature. She will be forever remembered by her loving children Jayme (Rose) McCaffrey and Corey (Jodi Sharp) McCaffrey; step-children Jason (Jackie) Cunningham, Sherri (Phillip) Cooper; grandchildren Leah & Emma McCaffrey, Andi McCaffrey, Hailey Sharp; step grandchildren Kristen Cooper, Melissa, Lexie, Taylor Cunningham; mother Arlene (Gagnon) Lawrence; siblings Les (Lydia) Gagnon, Ron (Lucy) Gagnon, Carol Bovenlander, Mark Gagnon, Pete (Cathie) Gagnon. Andy is predeceased by her husband, Rob Cunningham and her father Andre Gagnon.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 1st , 2012 at the Leduc Community Baptist Church, 3205 Coady Boulevard, Leduc, AB with Interment to follow at the Leduc Cemetery. A reception will be held at Andy's home at #9 King Street, Leduc following interment. Everyone is welcome. Donations in Andy's memory may be made to World Vision Canada.

I had the honour of working with Andrea during the last few weeks of her life. My impressions of her was of a very kind, loving woman and this was verified through meeting her family. Although the circumstances were very sad, it was a pleasure to meet Andrea's family. She told me her mother was the best, and her boys she loved immensely. I'd like to thank you all, especially Arlene, Jayme and Corey, for allowing me to come to the home to meet and work with Andrea. While I am very sorry for your loss of a wonderful daughter and mother, I however, am content she is now at peace and out of her pain. I unfortunately cannot make it to the service but please know my thoughts are with you all.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to Auntie Arlene, to my cousins and Andrea's family. I was so sad to hear of Andrea's passing. It has been so many years since I last saw my cousin Andrea up north in Kapuskasing Ontario. I have and will always treasure these memories that will be in my heart forever.

Words cannot express the sadness we feel with Andrea's passing. We share your sorrow. I have such fond memories of Andrea. Altough I haven't seen her in 40 somewhat years, I will cherish our fun times together when we were at Remi Lake (near Kapuskasing)and in Kirkland Lake when we would go to the public pool. How I loved her beautiful coppery red hair. It was long then with a beautiful wave to it. I am so sad to have lost her and more sad for the cancer that caused her great pain. I know that she is now with her loving husband and my uncles Andy and Peter. My heart goes out to Auntie Arlene and all my cousins. I pray for all of you and hold you close to my heart.

I had a few visits with Andrea soon after Rob had passed.We shared our life journeys for a short time yet I knew she was a strong woman of faith and courage. My prayers are with her family.

Andy was one of the kindest, purest souls I've ever known. Her time here on earth was certainly cut short, but I have not doubt she's been reunited with the loved ones who have gone before her.
Andy will be forever missed, and fondly remembered. She holds a special place in my heart, and I am truly blessed to have known this fine, fine lady.
My sincerest condolences to her family and those who grieve for this tremendous loss.

I am so sorry to hear of Andrea's passing. I knew both she and Rob through my daughter, Karry, and was with her at several shows where she and Karry worked tables together.
