Easton, MD-Andrea (Taylor) Heinlein, 98, formerly of New London, NH, died February 12, 2022 in Easton, MD.
She was born on May 18, 1923 in Delaware, OH the daughter of Melvin J. and Amanda Taylor and was the seventh of ten children (five sisters and four brothers).
She graduated from East Liverpool High School and Central Secretarial School.
Andrea was the wife of the late Robert E. Heinlein, a Major in the Medical Corps in the US Army and CEO and President of Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ for 27 years. They were married for 51 years at the time of his death in 1994. She is also predeceased by her son, Stephen R. Heinlein who was 65 and just recently by her son-in-law, William Malsch. Andrea is survived by two daughters, Karen D. Malsch of Easton, MD and Debra L. and her husband, John Frost of Norfolk, MA; daughter-in-law, Julia Heinlein of Portsmouth, NH; three grandchildren, Lisa D. Zander of Tobyhanna, PA, Raymond P. Rodriquez of Tobyhanna, PA and Adam T. Spagna of West Warwick, RI; five great granddaughters, Meghan, Tara, Rachel, Victoria and Alyssa; four great great grandchildren, Zachary, Aiden, Charlotte, Elianna and Giavanna.
At the age of 12 Andrea became a member of the Taylor-Skidmore Quartet in OH for 12 years. At age 17 her first employment was as secretary for the Attorney General of the US in the Pentagon. She was present the first day the Pentagon opened its doors.
In Summit, NJ, Andrea was active in community service as Secretary of the Council of Churches; President of Church Women United and President of the Methodist Women. She and her husband were active members of The First Baptist Church in New London, NH. Andrea was a past President of the Baptist Women’s Fellowship. She was also an active member of P.E.O., an International Educational Organization, since 1968. She was the last living Charter Member of Chapter K in New London.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at The First Baptist Church, 461 Main Street, New London, NH with burial to follow in West Part Cemetery, New London.
