Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2015.

Andrew Ansaldi, Jr. "Andy", 78, of Bolton, the beloved husband of Anne Ansaldi died on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Manchester in 1936, he was the son of the late Virginia and Andrew Ansaldi Sr. Andy was educated at Dartmouth College where he graduated in 1959 with dual masters' degrees from Tuck School of Business Administration and Thayer School of Engineering. After college, he joined his father in the family business as President of The Andrew Ansaldi Company. He helped grow the company's reputation, leading to the widely recognized and respected term "Ansaldi Built". In addition to the company's general contracting business, Andy took great pride in creating custom homes in and around the greater Manchester area and developed numerous multifamily apartment complexes. Aside from his business interests, Andy was heavily involved in numerous local community activities, served on various boards and development committees, and was actively involved in the sponsorship of local sports and community organizations. In 1970 he helped found The Manchester State Bank where he served as Chairman of the Board from its creation until 1996. In addition to his business and community efforts, Andy had many interests including a love of history, architecture, early American antiques, travel to Italy and, above all, spending time with his family and friends. Aside from his wife, he is survived by his children, Andrew Ansaldi III and wife Monica of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Adam Ansaldi and wife Mary of New Canaan, Amoree Ansaldi Casey and husband Brian of Boulder, CO, Aaron Ansaldi and wife Kathleen of Manchester, and Alex Ansaldi and wife Karen of Bolton; his adored grandchildren, Drew Ansaldi, Christiana Ansaldi, Will Ansaldi, Ben Ansaldi, Teddy Ansaldi, Cameron Casey, Connor Casey, Cody Casey, Lexi Ansaldi, Ally Ansaldi, Evan Ansaldi, Erik Ansaldi, Natalie Ansaldi, and Hailey Ansaldi; his step grandchildren, Leah Bieu and Ryan Bieu; his sister, Dorothy Carter of Bernardsville, NJ; his nephews, John Carter and his wife Cindy, Tad Carter, and Glenn Carter; and his former wife, Kitty Kuhlmann Ansaldi of Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 12th at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester. At the request of the family, please meet directly at church. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester on Sunday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago IL 60611-3201 or online at www.PulmonaryFibrosis.org. Farewell Mr. Ansaldi. You were such an awesome person and you were the best friend for my dad all of these years...Thank you for being there for him. I am so sad to hear you have moved on to the next life...however I know that you have lived a love-filled life and have touched many hearts while you were with us...My thoughts go out to your family and friends, who like myself, are going to feel the pain of your loss for a good while.
Happy Journey to you and you'll always be in our hearts.

I grew up living next door to Andy. He was always a true friend, but he sure could get into deviltry! I remember his 4th of July cherry bombs, his first car and his first girl friend. I'll always think of him with warmth and love. God's blessings on all his family.

Our condolences are extended to the family of Andy!! We were fortunate enough to see Andy in September at the 60th Class Reunion of the MHS Class of 1954. We were privileged to have been friends and classmates of his, as well as being raised together on the West Side. His license plate YDNA was so familiar to us on the streets and byways of Manchester as he did his magic throughout the town, carrying on the fine traditions, quality construction, and the business ethics of his father. Andy wasn't feeling up to par at our reunion, but came because he knew how important it was that he be there and how pleased his classmates would be to see him again, especially those of us living far away.
Both Dick and I are saddened by the new of his death and will always treasure knowing him and counting ourselves as friends of his,
Sincerely,
Sandy Taggart Finnegan Jenkins and Dick Jenkins
