Andrew Dickinson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 18, 2023.
The family of Andrew Dickinson are heartbroken to announce his sudden passing on Friday April 14, 2023, in Montreal, Quebec. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents Grant and Barbara, siblings Pamela (Jim), Paul (Laurie), Emerson (Lisa) Melissa (John) and Joanna (Chris). He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and extended family. Andrew led a life that made him happy, never in one place for long, he travelled across Canada by train, meeting and living with people who became lifelong friends and second family. He will be remembered as a selfless friend who put others ahead of himself. Andrews bright eyes, generous
laugh and humor fill us with joy. Despite many obstacles and challenging circumstances, he displayed resilience that is unmatched. Recently, he spent several years in Nova Scotia, purchasing a home with Alana, a place that he loved and felt comfortable in. We would like to thank his friends along the way who cared for Andrew and loved him for who he was. A special thank you to Alana for adopting the loves of his life, his dogs Shelayleigh and Wagyu. Andrew taught us many lessons, including to love and accept each other for who we are. We will think of him as we love our own dogs and when we see the trains rolling along. A family celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Every time we spoke, you amazed me with all the knowledge you gained on your journey across Canada. You always asked me if I was ok and wondered how I was doing. Seems like you had a very caring heart and put others first before yourself. I hope you'll be waiting at the gates of the spirit world to welcome me with open arms. Till that day comes dear nephew, fly high and keep on rocking in the free world. Luv ya lots

RIP Dicky. It was great growing up with you and working with you at chaps in Burlington. We had a bunch of adventures after work that I won´t forget. Until next time, smoke another cigarette and listen to the radio.

Dear Andrew was a kind young man who lived his life exactly the way he wanted in the outdoors. I will never forget picking him up on a Monday morning smelling like a fire pit and telling me he just got home from camping (literally) we had a good laugh about it. I was most impressed with his work ethic for sure. Rest In Peace Andrew . You will be truly missed by many

I remember visiting Andrew in Barry's Bay, ON many summers ago. Andrew had a roofing job and I was impressed with his work ethic and bravery getting on top of roofs. We had fun talking about all his railroad adventures and his love of dogs and nature. He will be missed.
