Andy, your life has been deeply saddened twice by the much too early passing of Mary and then your oldest son. We feel for you but admire your fortitude in dealing with these losses, and we are happy to be counted among your many friends. Whenever you are in Toronto you always will have a shoulder to lean on, a bed to sleep in, a table at which to eat and drink, and camaraderie.

Andy, it's been a year and not a day goes by I don't think of you. We weren't friends for long but I am so happy we were friends at all.

Our sympathies are with all the Haydon family. We remember so vividly spending wonderful and sometimes frantic days and nights with Andy, Mary, Andy Jr., Kelly, Tracy and Terry at the cottage on Danford Lake. Who can forget those three inch steaks barbecued at 2:00am by the master himself? Andy, we feel your grief acutely, since, as you know, we have a son about Andrew's same age.

To Andy's family. I just heard the sad sad news. Andy was a wonderful neighbor to my mother Estelle. They spent many an evening chatting with the dogs at their feet. It is a memory she will cherish. I had the good fortune to spend time with Andy on my visits to Ottawa. Will miss our evening walks. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sincere condolences on Andy's passing. He brought great enthusiasm and humour to the mountain biking community here in Ottawa. I will deeply miss spending time with him on the trails in the area. I attach a photo taken by our mutual mountain biking friend - the three of us would frequently ride together on evenings and weekends. As I move forward in life, I intend to keep his motto in mind, "Get outside! The graphics are amazing."

R.I.P. Andy, I'm glad you were doing what you loved right up to the untimely end.

Andy was quite the character and will be sorely missed. I spent many many afternoons, evenings and early mornings mountain biking the greenbelt trails with him. He was a very kind, generous person with a distinct outlook on life and always willing to help out. He was the kind of guy you could rely on when you needed assistance. Best wishes, Andy, and I hope there's tons of ski hills and mountain bike trails where you are now.

I am struggling for words. I held Andy in the highest esteem, as a neighbour and friend, for his principles - things like fiscal responsibility, giving an hand up, and respect for others (not necessarily in that order). Taken far too soon. With my sympathy to the Haydon family and Helen.

Andy, Kelly, Tracy and Terry,
I am shocked to learn of Andy's untimely passing. The blessing is that he was fulfilling his passion; I remember how he lit up whenever we talked about skiing in the West. No words can mend your broken hearts, but may it give each of you comfort reflecting on the myriad of great times, including spirited Sunday dinners (which I was privileged to enjoy a few times), years of adventure and laughter at the cottage, and the pride you all had in his propensity for challenging the status quo. Andy was his own man. I still have copies of the head shots he took for me when I left Ottawa and embarked upon my career in the design field, and I was frequently complimented on their quality. He was a gifted photographer with a great eye for detail. True to himself, he did it his way, and he will be missed.

Sending warm hugs and love.
