Andrew James Reid

Andrew James (AJ) Reid passed away suddenly at his home in Lake Ridge, Virginia on March 22, 2021 at the age of 27 years old. AJ was a whimsical soul with razor-sharp wit. He argued politics with fervor, loved math, and did Manifold Calculus for fun. AJ was a gentle giant who was driven when consumed by one of his many passions. He was a guitar enthusiast, and a huge fan of Thomas Pynchon, particularly "Gravity's Rainbow." He loved his family and his friends but had a special bond with his sister Molly. Her death last summer consumed him. May God grant him now the peace he could not find in life. "Let the peace of this day be here tomorrow when I wake up." ? Thomas Pynchon, Gravity's Rainbow Born in Alexandria, Virginia, April 30, 1993, to John Ernest and Pamela (Brown) Reid, AJ was a lifelong resident of the Northern Virginia area. He graduated from the International Baccalaureate Program at Gar-Field High School and studied at Virginia Commonwealth University and at Northern Virginia Community College. AJ leaves behind his heartbroken parents, John and Pamela (Brown) Reid; a sister Brittany (Reid) Warren and brother-in-law, Lloyd Warren. He was previously deceased just last summer by a sister, Molly Hines Reid. He is lovingly remembered by his nieces, Sophia Warren and Skylar Warren, and his nephews, Samuel Warren and Elijah McCoy. His family is struggling to make sense of a life cut so suddenly and terribly short. AJ will be cremated and his ashes scattered at a private memorial service at a later date.
