PADMOS, Andrew
96 years, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Tilbury Manor. Born in Brunisse, Netherlands on May 26, 1918. Predeceased by wife Ruth (nee Woonton) (2006); son Gordon McKay (1972); daughter Margaret Ruth Glass (2012); Parents Marinus (1975) and Marina (1995); brothers Adrian (John)(1959), Leonard (1996), Iman (2005) and McKay (2012) and sisters Lena (1928) and Edith Gange (1999). Survived by brothers Martin and David and sister Nellie; children Martin Andrew (Patricia), Jone Dalgleish (Danny) and Susan Padmos (David Paton); twelve grandchildren Jeremy Padmos (Molly), Alastair Padmos (Jessica), Daniel Padmos (Karmina), Jennifer Glass (Rob Arber), Keith Glass (Mireille Millette), Nathaniel Dalgleish (Christine), Benjamin Dalgleish (Tracy), Cameron Dalgleish, Andrew Dalgleish (Amber McKay), Crysler Paton, Garnet Paton and Norah Paton and 12 great-grandchldren. Andrew retired from Ford Motor Co. after 43 years in Windsor, Toronto, Oakville and Japan. He became Controller at the Oakville Assembly Plant in 1965 and served as Executive Vice President and Director of the Japan Automatic Transmission Co., a Ford U.S. subsidiary from 1977 to 1981. Andrew was a life member and Fellow of the Society of Certified Management Accountants and served as President of both the Ontario Society and the National Society of Certified Management Accountants. Andy was a family man, devoted to his beloved wife Ruth, supportive and proud of his children and grandchildren. He was active in church work, being a charter member of St. Stephen's-on-the-Hill, Mississauga and lately a member of Epworth United Church, Kingsville. He contributed to his community; in retirement, he was an active member of the Kingsville Lions Club, the Kingsville Goodfellows and the Kingsville Golf and County Club. He enjoyed lively discussions, a good game of golf and keeping in touch with his friends and family. Visitation will take place on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the
C. Stuart Sykes Funeral Home
91 Division St. S. Kingsville
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of his Life will take place Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Epworth United Church, Kingsville, Rev. John Van Omme officiating. Memorial donations can be made to Epworth United Church or to the Leamington Hospice. Many thanks to Lorraine Foott; their friendship was a source of much happiness.
