Andrew Parker

Andrew "Andy" Parker, of Natick passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the age of 83 after a short illness. Born in Natick, Massachusetts to the late Kenneth and Ethel (Sawtell) Parker, he was a graduate of Natick High School.

Beloved husband of 61 years to Ruth Ann (Harunk) and loving father to Tina Noonan and her husband Shaun Noonan of Natick. Dear brother of Diane O'Laughlin of Natick, George Parker and wife Loretta (Hammond) Parker of Natick. Loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and honorary Dad to a large circle of friends. Andy was predeceased by brother Kenneth V. Parker and wife Louise, sister Dorothy Hainline, and brother David Parker. Andy is also survived by Goddaughter Amanda Hayes, and her brother Kevin Hayes.

Andy started his life of service as a boy scout in his youth and joined the Army National Guard in his 20's. He joined the Wellesley Fire Department in 1963 and retired in 1995 after 32 years of service. He was a true craftsman when it came to hanging wallpaper and his work hangs in many a local and historic homes in Wellesley, Weston, Natick, Needham and Newton.

Andy was a quiet, but strong presence whose favorite pastimes were fishing, travelling with his beloved wife Ruth, drinking wine with his wine group, and organizing the bread shelves at Tilly & Salvy's. He was known as Andy to most, but he was also known as "Slick," "Grumpy," "Mr. P," and "Unca Unca Andy."

Andy was funny and fun, grumpy at times, but had that twinkle in his eye that made you think: "Oh he is up to something."

Visiting hours will be Sunday, November 5th from 2-5PM in the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St. Wellesley. A funeral service will be held Monday, at 11AM in the Burke Funeral Home followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
