Andrew Jeffrey Snyder

Peoria - With gratitude for what time we had but overwhelming sadness over a life ended too soon, we announce that Andrew Jeffrey (AJ) Snyder passed away on December 26th, 2023 at the age of 31.

He is survived by his father Andrew, his mother Kerry (Pound), his sister Samantha, his brother-in-law Taylor, & his nephew William. He is also mourned by his Uncle Daniel and Aunt Brenda Snyder, Aunt Kristin and Uncle Lynn Brandon, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Mark Sargent, Uncle Bruce and Aunt Karen Snyder, and Aunt Alice Pound; as well as his cousins, Tiffany Stewart, Lynn Welliver, Eric Snyder, Brittany Pound, Liz Cobb, Daniel Cobb, Lisa Huckeride, Adam Snyder, Casey Sargent, Lexi Poler, Courtney Price, Max Snyder, Davin Pound, Ann Carson, and Katie Pound. He is also grieved by his furry canine companions Obi & Leia. AJ was predeceased by his grandparents Raymond and Patricia Snyder, and Judith Pound; his Uncle Jeffrey Snyder, and Uncle Thomas Pound.

AJ loved music and found enjoyment in a wide variety of musical genres. He was also a skilled musician, able to adeptly play nearly any instrument he took the time to tinker with. He had a brilliant mind and was able to pick up new skills, knowledge, and hobbies with ease when something brought him excitement.

AJ was a nature enthusiast and also a part of many fandoms including Star Trek, ATLA, Nintendo, and various anime's. He also shared in his family's love of trivia & board games (which he would somehow ALWAYS win, regardless of the game).

AJ suffered many years from depression and anxiety. While he did seek help to heal and recognized the support that he had, he just could not shut down the thoughts that haunted him. He chose to end his own suffering. He lives on now inside of his friend's & family's love and affection, and inside a peace and security that ultimately eluded him in this life. His family will notify loved ones in the future when a memorial service has been scheduled.
